The Da Vinci Code

Warning! This book is only for bibliophiles!

Hey guys, if you love Leonardo Da Vinci and mysteries then this book is for you! Author Dan Brown starts off with the cold-blooded murder of a famous curator of the famed Louvre museum, Jacques Saunière. The dead body of Saunière is positioned in the form of Da Vinci’s famous Vitruvian Man. There are anagrams and coded messages written next to the curator’s dead body which prompts the French police to send for Robert Langdon (a professor of art and symbology at the Harward University). This is where the real mystery begins.

Sophie Neveu, from the cryptography department, comes to save Langdon from the Police who suspect him for the murder. Robert Langdon along with Sophie (who turns out to be Jacques Saunière’s granddaughter) gets a few mysterious clues in the Lourve and makes a break from the museum to escape from the police.

After some investigation, they realize that Sophies’ grandfather is more than just a curator. What starts out to be a murder turns out to be something much bigger than they can comprehend. Who is Jacques Saunière and what is he trying to lead the two investigators to?

The story unravels mystery, lies, deception, royal blood, and the quest for the holy grail. Do you know what “Holy Grail” is? Find out how they crack clue after clue as they get closer to finding their answers. The story is filled with anagrams(rearranging words or sentences to make others) and other puzzles like the cryptex(A puzzle made by Leanardo Da Vinci himself). While they are trying to find out what the curator was trying to lead them to, there is another organization called Opus Dei who is also racing against time to destroy the treasure they seek.

Are Sophie and Langdon going to crack the puzzle before Opus Dei? Will they be able to live up to Jacques Saunière’s expectations or will they fail him?

This book was just Breathtaking there wasn’t a moment I could put the book down. It is a really gripping book which keeps you engrossed for hours together. You learn many legitimate facts about the church and Christianity. Do you think you know a lot about “The Last Supper” by Da Vinci? Well, you will decipher the true meaning of the painting if you read this book. I really enjoyed the book and I am sure that you will not stop thinking about the book even days after reading it like me. This book interconnects everything from Jesus to Newton to Leonardo Da Vinci. After reading the book, visiting London and Paris(especially to the Louvre) is on the top of my bucket list. Personally, my favorite part was when they revealed the true meaning of ‘The Last supper’. Which code did you enjoy cracking the most? Please post your answer in the comments below
